We all hate run flats, so as soon as the stock tires are worn out, we tend switch to a much better tire. Problem is, it's normally not a run flat and you need the security of a spare tire. Never fear, we have you covered!
This spare comes mounted and ready to use. Nothings could be easier. As an added bonus, we installed a sticker on it for quick easy reference to show you to keep inflated to 60 PSI! We are able to use a 1 1/2 valve stem to keep a lot profile with lots of room to check and fill air pressure. This wheel is a stock BMW spare tire rim with a Kendra Tire and will fit over most front brakes that the MINI has, but will fit over ALL REAR brakes on the UNLESS you have the JCW brake option (Brembo kit). And for safety, you should always run a spare tire on the rear. No Spacers, adapters, or special lugs needed to make this work with your MINI. This spare is about 26" in diameter and a little over 5" thick. This is the correct size spare for the Countryman/Paceman no mater what size wheel and tire you have. This is designed to be used in an emergency situation for 60 miles or less and under speeds of 50 mph. By using this you will not cause any damage to the vehicle if driven in a normal manner.
We tested the fitment of the spare in the boot of the car and it will fit flat without any issues like it shows in the above photo. But it will not fit under the rear load floors. As a bonus, the way the interior panels are formed, it will keep the spare in place and keep it from moving around while on the road.
Looking for a tire bag? Our new tire bag is here!
Note: Only fits the R60 MINI Countryman or the R61 Paceman. Find all other Spare Tires here.
Note: Will NOT fit the JCW Brembo Kit.

Received spare tire and wheel, it fit behind the back seat just like your picture, with the cover that matched my interior color, it blends nicely and now allows me to purchase regular tires and ditch those hard riding run flats, having a run flat tire that allows you to drive 50 miles, won't do any good if the tire shop's within 50 miles don't carry run flats.....hard to find and a hard ride. thanks Detroit Tuned.

Sooner or later most MINI drivers will cast off the run flat tires out of need for more performance, more choice when replacing old tires or just out of sheer curiosity. But before throwing caution to the wind, it never hurts to have "backup" in the form of a spare tire on that long daily commute or trip to your favorite rally. This 17" spare with Kendra tire was a superb value for the money - I've seen this exact same set-up going for a hundred bucks more at other internet sites. Although I have seen another spare shod with a Continental tire, save yourself the extra cost. You won't be racing on a spare; you just need to get to the next town for help. Be advised that this is not a full sized spare. It's just big enough to get you out of trouble and down the road to the next tire or service center for assistance. Also, think about picking up a spare tire storage bag with carry handle. It's a convenient way to carry and store your spare.

Tire fits both front and rear wheels on the Paceman. Fits nicely in the boot on one side. Wish the cover had the stripes as shown.
DT Edit: That bag was a special one off bag. We can always make you something custom as they are done in house. But the price will be reflected.

When I ordered a new set of tires for my 2012 CM4, I switched out the run-flats for conventional. Once the run-flats were gone, I needed to purcase a spare. I ordered this one from you and I am very happy with the product. The spare lies flat behind the rear seat without any adjustment to the seat.
Also, I was VERY impressed with the great service you provided. You shipped my order the same day and followed up to be sure my order was received and correct.
I will be sure to order from Detroit Tuned the next time I need anything for my MINI.
As a side note, I am very happy I ditched the run-flats! Storing the spare is a small inconvenience compared to the improvement in the ride and handling.

Not had to use but it's some of the cheapest insurance you can buy when ditching run flats.

I didn't want to replace my run flats with another set. They are $220 each when regular tires are $127 each. To top it off the regular tires last twice as long and give the Mini a better ride and improve the handling. Switching tires justifies the cost of the spare. It fits nicely flat on the floor of the countryman. I put it on the left side. I had to move my left rear seat up a notch to make it fit. Not a big deal. I would definitely recommend this spare and switch to regular tires.

Nicely made wheel and tires but in a 2015 Countryman All4 it really takes up most of the trunk. Might take up less space without the flat deck installed.
