We have seen a lot of MINI Cooper S Transmission Weights that have way too much play in them. The round center bushing wears at an angle and creates play and binding in the shifter. If it's hard to get into gear from time to time, take a look at this part. Also, if you hear a metal “ting” when shifting, the center plastic ring has broken and fallen out. We tend to see big grooves worn into them where the transmission arm rides on the vehicles that have high mileage. This is a very easy part to replace that can make a huge difference in how the car shifts. These parts are not lubed from the factory, so we recommend using a high quality grease on all the moving parts during assembly.
This comes with everything you see here. No additional parts are needed for this fix, except a potential small bushing that moves the shifter up and down.
