Here is the best option for anyone that has decided the run flats were not the tire for them anymore (everyone?), but are afraid of running around without a spare. This spare tire will fit behind your seat for long road trip or day to day driving. Also this tire will fit in the spare tire well in the Clubman S! Also see the Clubman mount kit that we sell!
This spare comes mounted and ready to use. Nothings could be easier. As an added bonus, we installed a sticker on it for quick easy reference to show you to keep inflated to 60 PSI! This wheel is a stock MINI spare tire rim and will fit over most front brakes that the MINI has, but will fit over ALL REAR brakes on the MINI UNLESS you have the JCW brake option (brembo kit) on a generation 2 car. And for safety, you should always run a spare tire on the rear. No Spacers, adapters, or special lugs needed to make this work with your MINI. This spare is about 22" in diameter and a little over 5" thick.
Fits every MINI except the new R60 MINI Countryman or the R61 Paceman.Find that Spare Tire HERE.
Note: If you have a Cooper R50 or a Cooper Clubman R55, you already have a spare tire.
Note: Will NOT fit Generation 2 cars with the JCW BREMBO Kit at all. The rear rotor is larger than other models and the caliper just touches it and will not clear. Sorry.

Spare tire/wheel looks to be very good quality and shipping was very quick. I just switched to non-runflat tires. Good luck though if you try to get a tire bag from njbaglady. I ordered a bag about a month ago (Oct 2013) and never heard anything from her. She doesn't respond to my emails and I'm trying to get PayPal to help me get my money back.

Like many Mini drivers with run-flat tires, I grew weary of the harsh and noisy ride. When I finally decided to opt for non-run flat tires I was not sure where to get the proper spare. A quick Google led me to Detroit-Tuned and other potential sources of the needed device. It didn't take long to see that Detroit-Tuned had what I needed and at the best price. Ordering was quick and easy and the product arrived quickly. I'm hoping I don't have to use it (hence the 4 out of 5 stars) but can now enjoy the Mini even more with the quiter, less-harsh ride. Thank you Detroit-Tuned. I'm sure I'll be back.

The product looks good. I have not used it so far but looking at what I see it looks like this will do the job.Prompt service and quick shipment.

Priced the same thing at several local Mini dealers. STUPID MONEY !!! $230 plus $30 to mount the tire on the rim and balance it. It apparently doesn't come ready to go like the one I got from you guy's.

Got the spare tire quick. As others have stated, hope to never use, but now I feel more comfort having it around.

This is pretty much your basic spare tire... though it seems of very good fit. It would have better for the steel rim to have a color or two to chose from even if it is just a spare. It would also have been better if the steel wheel material was not sticking out from the tire surface to make it truly compact.
Service and speed of delivery from Detroit Tuned was great!

I have a r57 and it just about fits in my caboose> it is a little tight but the door closes. Getting ready for my non run-flats.
Also noted that Chad wrote the invoice, way to go White Roof Radio!!!!!!!!!!

Although I haven't had a chance to mount this mini-spare (and hope I never do), it appears to be well-made, as advertised. It arrived in only a few days and fits very nicely into the spare tire well of my 2009 Mini Cooper S Clubman. I secured it with an adapted 8 mm hold-down from a junkyard Honda Civic and trimmed the foam holding my tool kit to fit the space. If I need extra trunk space for a long trip, I can remove one or both "floors" from the trunk. It's so good to be rid of those harsh-riding run-flat tires!

Not much of a review as I got the spare tire for my Mini early, it looks like a temp spare, I hope I never have to use it. That is all I have now.
