Description Reviews New Updated Part Number! This coil pack now works will all models! N12, N14, N16, & N18 MINI Cooper & S Models! MINI added Coil-On-Plug technology in 2007, eliminating wires all together to make a better working system. The problem is, and more so in the Coopers than the Cooper S's, is that we found that MINI keeps their spark plugs in longer than they should based on recommended service intervals. That in turn makes the coil pack work harder to make sure the cylinder is working correctly. That then burns out the coil before it should ever need replacing. How do you know if you need a new coil pack? The car will give you an SES light (Service Engine Soon), as well a rough idle, and once you read the codes, it comes back to a misfire or coil pack for cylinder X. A surefire way to know that it's that coil pack is to move it to another cylinder and see if you get the same code for that new cylinder #. We have seen Cooper's with coil problems at early as 60K. The MINI Cooper S's are not immune to this problem, but we have been finding that it's in less numbers and higher mileage. We highly recommend replacing the spark plugs at this time also. The coil pack warranty will be void if you do not replace the spark plugs, per the the manufacture's warranty. You don't always have to replace all 4 coils at the same time, but you should. Also, to help save costs, we will be selling you the same coil in the car, a Bosch or a Delphi unit. But it will not come in a MINI box. It comes direct from the manufacturer to take out the MINI markup! Note: Sold as each.
