Description Reviews AEM Cold Air Intake System for the 2007- 2010 R55 R56 R57 MINI Cooper S & JCW (N14) ***Please note - this cannot be exported outside of the USA.*** The AEM 21-699C Performance Cold Air Intake System produces horsepower and torque gains by replacing your vehicle’s restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing. This air intake system was designed, tuned and dyno-tested to fit specific Mini Cooper S and S Clubman models. Air enters the system through an oversized AEM Dryflow synthetic washable air filter for outstanding air flow, filtration and performance. The air filter is protected by a heat shield and a replacement air box with a fully opened hood scoop which is designed to reduce intake air temperature and increase horsepower. The intake tubing is constructed from mandrel-bent aluminum featuring a durable gunmetal gray powder coated finish. This air intake system was developed to accommodate the engine’s factory emissions control devices including the mass air flow sensor as well as a replacement AEM filter minder gauge. The cylinder shaped AEM Dryflow air filter is made from an oil-free, synthetic filter media that can be used for up to 100,000 miles before cleaning is needed (depending on driving conditions). Posted by JD on 15th Oct 2021 If you have an R56, this is the best intake you can get. Clean look! Easy to install! The only thing I wish it came with was the Filter Minder gauge. The turbo heat shield is also pretty awesome. Looks more clean to look at than the stock turbo heat shield. 4 AEM Intake Posted by aaron on 27th Nov 2014 I've been running this intake for one month now. Instillation was easy and the instructions were well written. As with most intakes on the market and my fifteen plus years of work in the automotive field gains are minimal at best unless supported by other mods. I do feel a slight increase in pull in the midrange area along with a now more vocal turbo and bypass valve operation. Things to look out for include rechecking all screws and clamps every 1000 miles as they seem to come loose. I added blue loc-tight to the intake box cover as the allen screws kept backing out. However, one could add lock washers instead of the plastic washers AEM provides. Over all I'm quite pleased with my purchase and the folks at Detroit Tuned are very professional, helpful and a genuine pleasure to deal with. I will definitely be doing business with them again.
