They machine this into an ergonomic pull handle with sculpted curves and two rubber o-rings to ensure a full seal in your oil dip stick tube. Then these handles are powder coated tough in our favorite color, red, so it will look just right in your engine bay. Next, they evaluated materials for the stem. Many dipsticks are made from flattened steel, but why? Because it's cheap and easy; but that is not how they do things. We have cut grooves into the sinker and they each catch a bit of oil. You can see from the photo above that it is obvious which one has been dipped in oil and which one hasn't. The lowest groove indicates you need to add approx.1 quart of oil, the middle point indicates about 1/2 quart of oil, and the top groove means your oil is full.
